The Switch to Full Time Farming

Four and a half years ago in October of 2019 when we first started Wildberry, we had no idea that we would be where we are in just 4 short years.

Back when we started, we threw around the idea that maybe in 10 years (by 2029) Matt could retire from his 25+ year career in the Marine Industry doing Yacht Restoration and come to the farm full time.

Fast forward to 2024, and the farm has grown to become an animal all on its own. Between Matt's full time job and the farm, we are each clocking in at 80+ hours a week essentially trying to do all the things.

It got to the point that we were having real conversations about if Matt would continue on with his career, or if he would leave the Marine Industry and focus on growing the business on the farm.

Well, we have some exciting news... As of May 27, 2024 Matt is now retired from Yacht Restoration and farming full time at Wildberry! Matt is leaving behind a 25+ year career full of skill, knowledge, and hard work. This was not by any means an easy decision for him, but for the sake of our farm, our family, and what we have built he has jumped all in with Wildberry and we couldn't be more excited to see where this next chapter takes us.

So if you see Matt around town, or at one of our farm events, tell him congrats and give him a warm welcome into full time farming! He's earned it.

Now this is where you, our community, come in. All we ask is that you come by the farm when we are open, tell your friends about us, and follow along with us on this journey. Wildberry wouldn't be what it is without you. Here's to many more years of Wildberry!
