The Trailer Chicks are Out!

This month we were finally able to put our trailer chicks out to pasture in one of our larger fields.

These guys and gals will rotate through the field over the upcoming months, clearing the area of pests, eating down the grass, and naturally fertilizing the area.

We have a variety of breeds in this flock including ISA Browns, White Leghorns, Brown Leghorns, Barred Rocks, Dominique, Buff Orpington, and many more varieties!

This flock has had to acclimate to being outdoors, as they spent most of their time in their trailer until fully grown. It was a new adventure for the flock, and they have enjoyed exploring the field!

So far, we have been receiving one to two eggs a day, but as the weeks go on we will be collecting more and more!

We have enjoyed going through this journey with the Trailer Chicks, and can't wait to add more free range flocks to our farm in the future.
