At the end of last season, I became a pro at popping up our 10x10 tent completely by myself. I did it twice a week during our farm stand evenings, once a month when we hosted our Vendor Market, and at various farm events we hosted throughout the season. I would be lying if I said I wasn't burnt out from lugging that tent around all season, especially when it was 5:00 in the morning before a Vendor Market!
Over our winter rest, Matt and I were chatting with my Father-in-Law, who also happens to be a successful local contractor, about how amazing it would be to have a trailer market stand that could be hitched up to the tractor and moved around the farm. His wheels started turning, and when he started asking me questions about what would be important to me in a market stand trailer set-up, I knew we were doing this thing!
We sourced an old trailer from a neighboring farm, Matt cleaned up the frame, restored and painted the wheels, and we had a local company put new tires on once Matt was finished with the wheel restoration.
We met a few times to talk about the plans and drawings, then Matt's dad, and his cousin who also grew up on the farm, began to build!
Once they were finished, I was able to come in and begin painting!
You may recognize this color from our chicken coop! It is also the color of the door to our house from our screened-in porch. This color is so happy, and so "me!" I am so glad I decided to stay true to myself and choose this color for the outside!
We cannot wait to show you all of the amazing features of this trailer! It is a one-of-a-kind design, created and built by our family here on the farm. We will open it up for the first time at our 2021 Field Market Opening Day on 6/12 at 9am. We hope to see you there!
A huge thank you to Megan Evans Photography for the gorgeous images of our trailer all beautifully decorated with flowers by Ikam Create , and Naomi Prosser for the beautiful make up!
